141716Photo #141716Cycle lane too narrow and often overgrown. More importantly it double white lines so it's illegal to overtake a cyclists doing more than 10mph. If the cyclists actually rides in the cycle lane it encourages a close pass and if they ride in primary position drivers think they should be in the cycle lane. Clearly designed by a non cyclist. Terrible. Widen the road.Cycleway:

137173Photo #137173It is only a mile or so from the village to Newport Pagnell but the vehicles travel this road fast enough and without consideration to cyclists and walkers so it is little used. Wider path for walkers and cycle lane would encourage car free travel between the two areas and discourage vehicles (which could use the purpose built bypass instead).Cycleway:

133015Photo #133015This roundabout is a nightmare for cyclists and needs a safe means of getting round it by bike. Lanes on the approach roads are particularly hazardous. It's on my cycle commute and it's a real "who dares wins" roundabout because of the high speed of oncoming traffic. For certain journeys there is no quick, safe alternative.Cycleway:

133011Photo #133011Why is there no cycleway for cyclists to get safely across this junction? I know somebody who regularly cycled across it (using a folding bike) to access the nearby Coachway. The lane structure over the roundabout is a complete barrier to safe cycling.Cycleway:

133008Photo #133008The advisory cycle lanes here are too narrow - narrower than the recommended distance from the kerb that cyclists should adopt, of 75-100cm. They encourage frustration from motorists if you cycle outside the lane. but as they are advisory they can easily be repainted to be wider and would not impede the traffic if widened.Cycleway:

133005Photo #133005If there was a bridge here, and the track towards it were paved, it would allow easy and safe access for cyclists, pedestrians, mobility scooters, wheelchairs and pushchairs to travel between the largest residential zone in Olney, Emberton Park and Emberton, linking recreational facilities and schools with a safe route. It would avoid the A509 bridge for these vulnerable groups and be very well used.Track:

133003Photo #133003East Street is a problem for both pedestrians and cyclists as there isn't a continuous footpath and there is no space to widen the path that exists. To make it safer for both pedestrians and cyclists here and across the whole residential area I suggest a 20mph zone covering the whole area East of the High Street. It would be relatively easy to implement as there are few entry and exit points.Track:

133000Photo #133000There is a cycleway along the A509 here (not the route through Emberton Park). It isn't large enough for people to pass even without social distancing. Last time I rode it I got a faceful of hedge. The alternative route through the park is not safe in the dark, not direct and impossible to use with a bike trailer at each end. Please cut the hedge and widen the path.Cycleway:

132997Photo #132997Lots of people use this footpath to walk and cycle to Emberton Park from Olney. However it is very difficult to cycle there safely especially with small children. This section is a pinch point, with a narrow walkway and constant traffic along the A509. there isn't enough room to widen the pavement so I suggest we need an alternative mixed use path from housing areas on each side of Olney (West and East), linking amenities with a safe route.Cycleway:

104223Photo #104223Just discovered these Lime bikes outside MKC Station, as soon as I’ve downloaded the app and signed up I’ll be on my way.

The cost is £1 to unlock and then 15 pence per minute which works out at about £1 per mile.
